On a more pessimistic note…..
Sourcing people via internet and sending the message or an email lacks a personal touch and gives no space to maneuver your arguments on selling the position. So best thing to do , especially during executive search projects, is to pick up the phone and just call the candidate. Usually it is a straight forward YES or NO answer. But recently more often than 3-5 years ago the people registered in social networks and identified that way for some executive search project are no longer with us , and consultants get that information over the phone form former colleagues or family. That of course is quite depressing. What makes me wonder is when will we reach the point that LinkedIn will have more dead people’s accounts than those alive?

What if we pass away and what we left behind would be not only our LinkedIn account but also all the notes, quotes and pictures on Facebook, twitter, myspace, etc. If the new profile update wouldn’t appear for a while and than more than a while… the thing is- when would anyone finally notice that we are not longer here?
